Spring is Here
The weather has been gorgeous here in Southern California, seventies in the daytime and sixties at night. The cyclamen are starting to fade in my backyard flower pots but the pansies and viola are blooming in profusion. Out my office window and in the park, deciduous trees sport new leaves in shades of pale green, and next door, my Japanese neighbor’s Japanese garden is a spectacle of spring colors. Birds are more vocal and more colorful … goldfinches visit my backyard feeders and the bluebirds in the park are suddenly electric blue. Mr. P, my son’s Siamese cat, is trading in his cool weather fur for a sleek warm weather coat, shedding most of it on my desk and keyboard. The brown hills in the distance show a hint of green. Spring is Here. The transition here in Socal may not be as dramatic as it is elsewhere in the country but if you look closely, it’s just a glorious.
