Older Eyes in Paradise

So, by the time you read this, Mrs. Eyes (also known as Muri) and I will be airborne over the Pacific, on our way to Kahului Airport.  Yes, Maui.  Older Eyes is on vacation.  So, will this be the week he falls off the Postaday2011 wagon?  I suspect you know that the answer is No.   I’ve prewritten several posts and will repost a few dinosaurs from when Older Eyes – Bud’s Blog (certainly not Older Eyes himself) was young.  I’d especially invite you to stop by on Friday for my Friday Favorites on a very special occasion.  I’ll probably post a few photos during the week as a way of inviting my readers to tag along as we spend the week relaxing.  You’re welcome as long as keep your comments light and don’t make too much noise.  Maybe I’ll stop by a few blogs on my Blogroll over a Mai Tai just to say hello … but then again, don’t count on me.   We’re on vacation.

It’s Top Sites Tuesday #107 – Two Thoughts on Tuesday.  In the spirit of our week, mine are two Hawaiian Proverbs I found on Royal Hawaiian Wisdom:

Ua ola no i ka pane a ke aloha -There is life in a kindly reply. Though one may have no gift to offer to a friend, a kind word or a friendly greeting is just as important.

He kehau ho`oma`ema`e ke aloha – Love is like a cleansing dew. The cleansing power of aloha can soothe and heal. Hurt, pain, and suffering yield to aloha’s healing power.

So, if you’ve enjoyed this post, I’d ask you kindly to push my button … gently … to make me Number One on Top Sites Tuesday #107.    But if you don’t … ‘A‘ole pilikia.    Aloha a hui hou.

Well, Bud, I didn’t realize you knew some Hawaiian! 🙂

I used to live in Hawaii as a child and up until I was 23. I remember learning some Hawaiian language in school. I’ve never been to the outer islands (I only lived on Oahu) but my friends who are still there tell me so much has changed since I last lived there. They said Kauai and the Big Island have more people now that they’re almost the way Oahu used to be.

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful time there!
